energylive — The European Commission is taking Greece to the Court of Justice for not calculating the energy performance requirements for buildings.
As part of the Buildings Directive it is essential for Member States to measure the minimum requirements with “a view to achieving the best combination between investments and savings”.
The calculations work out the energy efficiency and renewable energy potential of buildings.
Greece was reminded of its obligation to perform the necessary calculations and to submit a report to the Commission last year. It is the only Member State which did not comply.
