Daratso residents protest the killing of a stray dog

Chania Post — People in Daratso, a village to the west of Chania,  protested on Tuesday afternoon the death of a stray dog who was deliberately hit by the driver of a car a few days ago.

Many students of the local High School participated in the protest rally. They  held a banner  with the words “It is a dog – Who cares? Apathy is complicity”, along with a photo of the eight  month  old dog, Pipila who was killed. The students took care of the stray dog and her puppies before she was killed.

“I will remember this day for all my life. What happened was wonderful. It is a pity though that this event only took place because of the killing of a stray dog”,  said the President of the Panhellenic Animal Welfare Association, Mrs. Anastassia Bobolaki.
