A 70 year old woman from Switzerland died on Thursday morning while swimming at the sea in Korfalonas, Kissamos.
A few hours later, it was reported that a 72 year old woman drowned at the sea area of Kyani Akti, Kalives. No more details were made available by the police.
Both deaths are subject of a coroners investigation to determine the exact causes of death.
There have been nine deaths of swimmers in Crete since May this year.
