Crete Post — Two more people drowned in the Cretan seas on Sunday just a few hours after another incident at a Rethymno beach on Saturday claimed the life of a 76 year old man.
Both incidents occurred on Sunday afternoon in Chania Prefecture.
An elderly man, aged 80, drowned at the sea area of Stalos, while he was swimming with his wife.
The lifeguard saw what was happening and managed to take the man on the beach, but -unfortunately- he was already dead.
Meanwhile, at the sea area of Fragokastello, Sfakia, an elderly woman from Russia, drowned, also on Sunday afternoon.
She had come to Crete for vacation along with her husband and her granddaughter.
