Two arrested in Lesvos for hurling petrol bombs against refugees
ANA – MPA — Greek police arrested two teenagers on Lesvos on Sunday for hurling petrol bombs against two Syrian refugee families camped in two small parks in Mytilene.
According to the police, at 02.00 am on Saturday, the two 17-year old locals threw the first petrol bomb against a refugee family which had camped in a municipal park, injuring lightly a Syrian man who was transferred to hospital. Fifteen minutes later, the same teenagers who were riding a small motorcycle, threw the second petrol bomb against Syrians at Hatzidimou Park. Luckily the bomb missed its target and fell on a brick construction inside the park. The inflammable material spread towards an Afghan family sleeping nearby but none of them was injured.
The suspects were recorded on the security camera of a nearby house and were identified by police. According to information they have confessed their action. On Monday morning they will be led before the prosecutor facing felony charges.
