Tornos News — The Greek Seamen’s Federation, PNO, has announced a 48-hour strike in all ship categories starting from from 00:01 on Tuesday, May 16, until 24:00 on Wednesday, May 17 and warned that the two-day strike may herald the beginning of a rolling programme of industrial action.
According to PNO’s announcement, Greek seamen are protesting against uninsured labour and rising unemployment in their sector as well as the collapse of labour relations and social security rights.
Passengers that have booked ferry tickets are advised to check with their travel agents or contact local port authorities for further information. Those travellers whose trip is cancelled due to the strike are entitled to a full refund of their ticket.
