Greek ferry crews have decided to extend their strike for one more day.  The strike has left many travellers stranded on some popular island destinations and could affect as many as 100,000 passengers the ferry companies said.

PNO seamen’s union said that ferries will remain confined to port until 6 am local time on Wednesday.

The union said it proposed to extend its protest if its demands for pay rises and tax breaks are not met.

Unions whose members have been subjected to an 8-year pay freeze, rejected a 1 % increase this year and another 1% in 2019, seeking a 5% pay rise.
