GTP.gr — The Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) announced on Tuesday that it will participate in the 24-hour strike called by the General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE) on Sunday, May 8.
The strike will begin at 00:01 and end at 24:00. The private sector umbrella union is holding the strike in protest of Sunday shopping hours (eight Sundays a year).
PNO said the strike is not connected to the 48-hour work stoppage it plans to call for when the government submits the pension reform bill to parliament.
The Federation said it will “continue, intensify and escalate the struggle to safeguard the fundamental rights of Greek seamen until the final withdrawal of the bill”.
