Police confirmed that body found on the beach in Kavros is not Manolis Damoulakis, the 50 year old plumber from Rethymnon, who was reported missing on 17 December.
The search for the identity of the dead man continues.
The body of a man body was found on Kavros beach by a walker on new years day afternoon. Police and ambulance services were alerted and the body was taken to Rethymnon Hospital morgue for a coroner’s inquest to determine the cause of death.
The identity of the man described as ‘of average built and dressed in black trousers and a black T shirt’ is not yet known, but police speculate that it may be that of the 50 year old man who went missing on 17 December.
