A man has died on Wednesday after a large tree fell on his vehicle in Souda avenue at the MAICH junction (towards the supermarket), at around 11:00 am when 80 mph winds battered much of the island.
The 58year-old man, whose name has not been made public, was travelling on Souda Avenue when a large Eucalyptus tree came down and fell onto his van.
The man’s death was confirmed by EKAV emergency medical assistance. He is believed to have died instantly
