eKathimerini –Police in Halkidiki, northern Greece, say they have confiscated the largest ever amount of pesticides illegally imported from European Union states and third countries.
The pesticides, whose amount has not been disclosed, were found in an unnamed village in Halkidiki.
It was the latest in a series of busts as authorities combat illegal imports and distribution organized by crime rings operating throughout the EU.
The illegal imports have been a bane on local producers and the national economy.
