Tornos News — Greece’s Region of Crete and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed an agreement setting out the terms for collaboration in the sectors of economy, trade and tourism.
Members of the Chinese delegation visiting the island were briefed on the region’s products and the development of tourism from China to Crete and Greece in general.
The cooperation deal was signed by the deputy regional director of Crete in European and international issues, Giorgos Alexakis, and his counterpart Zhang Xiao Qin.
Alexakis noted that 100,000 Chinese visited Greece for holidays in 2016, while 35,000 Greeks visited China. The inflows on each end will be encouraged by the direct Beijing-Athens airline connection, he added.
