Greece seizes 26 million tablets meant for IS

theage.com.au — Greek authorities in the country’s largest port, Piraeus seized a huge shipment of painkillers after being informed that it was intended for the members of the so-called “Islamic state”, the Agency for Financial Crime in Greece announced on Friday.  Islamic State which would either use the drugs for its fighters or sell them for a profit.

The drugs  made of more than 26 million pills were found in a container registered as containing linen goods.  Greek authorities received assistance from the US Drug Enforcement Administration.

An official involved in the operation said the drugs were shipped from India to Piraeus in Greece, and had been due to be transported in another freighter to Libya.
