Greece tops the league of last minute holiday destinations with Zakynthos marking an increase of 115 % on last year’s bookings and Crete second with a 62% increase. Corfu, Kos and Rhodes follow with increases of 47%, 42% and 30% respectively.
Greece and the Greek islands are particularly popular destinations with last minute on line booking websites. The average increase for the whole country is 58%
Spain, Turkey and Cyprus have also increased the numbers of last minute holiday bookings.
Alistair Daly, marketing director of On the Beach, said on the company’s site that there are some very good last minute deals for a Greek holiday in 2015.
