A fire broke out on Saturday morning at a small boatyard at Aspro, near Gavalochori in Apokoronas, totally destroying it.
Several fire crews from Vryses and Chania arrived at the scene to contain the fire.
It is believed that highly flammable materials used in the yard were ignited starting the fire. Several explosions were also heard by residents in the nearby villages of Almirida and Gavalochori.
