The Finance Ministry on Wednesday issued a new price list for some of the staples sold at self-service, standing-only snack bars in public areas such as ferry boats, archaeological sites, airports, sports arenas, trains and hospitals, in a bid to crack down on profiteering.
The maximum prices snack bars can charge from now on are: 0.35 euros for a 500 ml bottle of water, 1.45 euros for a ham-and-cheese sandwich (toasted or not), 1.25 euros for a cheese sandwich (toasted or not), 1.20 euros for a Greek coffee, 1.30 euros for tea and filtered or instant coffee, and 1.45 euros for espresso coffee (hot or cold).
