From the beginning of August Apokoronas council has added Kalyves Maistrali Beach to the growing list of Blue Flagged Cretan beaches with disabled access to the water.
A floating wheelchair with access track is available to give wheelchair users access to the water.
Mayor Koukianakis stated that the council intends to extend the scheme to other beaches in Apokoronas.
