Above average temperatures are expected for the next couple of days in Crete with the day maximum reaching or exceeding 28 Celcius on Thursday.

At the same time increasing in strength southerly winds are expected bringing another round of African dust.

The civil protection authorities are advising people not to undertake any activities that run the risk of fire, to avoid a repeat of last weeks outbreak of wild fires that destroyed large areas of farm and grazing land.
