Corfu gets backlash against wild boozy Brits

Daily Star — Corfu  is the latest holiday hotspot to crack down on drunken Brits who party all night and cause trouble in the streets. Locals in party town Kavos are calling time on the “debauched” antics.

They claim their small island is overrun with youths who get high on balloons of nitrous oxide and brawl in public.

Clubs sell drinks with names like Haribo Headf***er and some revellers vomit in streets once lined with quaint tavernas.

President of the Kavos Cultural Association, Vagelis Aspiotis, said: “These kids just stare at the internet on their phones, use balloons and get drunk.

“We feel embarrassed for our town. Kavos has changed from the paradise it was when I was a child into a dirty paradise – dirty streets, dirty beach.”

It follows a backlash against UK holidaymakers in Magaluf, Mallorca, Crete and other European destinations.
