Significant rainfall was recorded in Crete during December with Chania district having the biggest share.
Askifou and Samaria recorded rain levels of 472 and 414 mm while in Vamos and Vryses the rainfall exceeded 460 mm.
The average December rainfall in the prefecture of Chania is 94 mm.
The lowest levels of rainfall were recorded in the south of Heraklion prefecture where in some parts there was less than 25mm of rain
