An 18-year-old British tourist was found dead in his room in the village of Sissi in Lasithi, Crete, on Friday.
The teenager had been out drinking with friends the previous night in the Cretan resort of Malia, according to authorities, which is known for its often raucous nightlife.
He recovered well enough from a very heavy drinking session to return to his hotel room in the early hours, but his friends found him dead in his room during the day.
A police source revealed that the young man possibly died from a head injury he sustained after falling over on the pavement outside the bar where he was drinking, but are waiting for the results of a postmortem examination and toxicology tests to determine the exact cause of death.
Another man, a British national who works at the bar the young man was drinking with his friends, is questioned by the police.
