Xinua — A rescue operation was underway on Monday evening to locate a wooden 66-foot fishing boat with about 45 migrants on board sailing south of Crete after a distress call was made to the European emergency number 112.
Three coast guard vessels and an aircraft from the European border patrol agency Frontex were sent to search for the vessel.
