ANA-MPA — The sale of a majority stake in Greece’s gas transmission operator (DESFA) to Socar, Azerbaijan’s state-owned oil company, was discussed on Friday during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Greece, Rahman Mustafayev, Socar executive Anar Mammadov with Nikolaos Boulaxis, the president of the power regulatory authority (RAE).
The meeting was requested by SOCAR.
The Baku-based company has emerged as the highest bidder in a tender to acquire a 66-percent stake in DESFA, but the deal has not been completed due to concerns expressed by the European Commission.
