Additional works to the sewage and drain network have started on Tuesday in Kalyves, by the Water Services of Apokoronas. The work will last for about 15 days. The council apologises for any inconvenience these essential works may cause and asks for the resident’s co-operation during the next two weeks.
The council asks the drivers through Kalyves not to obstruct the works by parking on no parking zones and follow the diversion signs.
It is worth noting that some of the sections of road dug out for this essential work had been resurfaced only a few weeks ago, after many wears of disrepair, and there are worries that gaping holes will be left unrepaired through the summer season making the drive through the village unbearable once again. We all hope the council and the Water Authority will carry our some permanent repairs on the road before the height of the tourist season. They may even consider keeping the parking restrictions and the diversion through the seafront as a permanent measure for reducing traffic congestion in Kalyves.
