Chania council has started the installation of smart information boards at key entry points to the city to give residents and visitors information about traffic flow, available parking locations and events.
The sign boards will be located at the roads leading into Chania from the junctions of Mournies, Souda, Halepa and the road leading to Chania from the airport at Honolulu.
Information will be fed to the signs from 168 input sensors in 64 junctions around Chania.
The work was funded by the European Development fund and the boards ar expected to be fully operational by the end of this month.
