Two arrested in Chania in connection with axe murder

On Wednesday Chania Police detained two foreign nationals, a man and a woman, believed to be Romanian citizens  in connection with the death of another man, also Romanian, who died from head injuries likely caused by an axe.  The body of the victim, believed to be  around 35, was found in a derelict building in the centre of the city of Chania.

He is believed he was attacked following a dispute. The police did not release further details about the motives for the attack.
