Tsipras vows to battle against vested interests in Greece

Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras, who is touring Chania, Crete, on Tuesday stressed the importance of dealing effectively with the long lasting problems of the political system, the important problems of the country, and the large vested interests.

“It is the politicians of the past that pushed us in the ditch, creating debts. And we should get out of the ditch,” he underlined and added:

“Overcoming the crisis is not just a Greek issue, but a European one.”

He referred to the NSRF 2014-2020 programme and the Juncker package of 35 million euros, noting that a key part of the programme should be directed to small and medium-sized projects of local authorities.
