Thessaloniki to Chania passenger arrested for smoking during the flight

A Ryanair passenger on the flight from Thessaloniki was arrested yesterday after the plane landed at Chania.

The passenger, a Greek national , set off the smoke alarms in the aircraft toilet by smoking cigarettes during the 45 minute flight

When he was told to stop smoking he turned abusive and told the flight crew to ‘get lost’.

When the airplane landed to Chania, police came onboard and arrested the man who will be charged with endangering the safety of the plane and passengers during the flight.

Some passengers remarked that the man was seen smoking inside the Thessaloniki terminal where smoking is not permitted but nobody challenged him at the time.
