Ryanair will accept cash for tickets if cards cannot be processed.

Ryanair confirmed last night that online bookings  can still be made with a Greek bank card if the bank in question will process it – each online booking is being reviewed on a case by case basis.

To help customers who have problems with credit and debit cards issued in Greece, customers will be able to buy Ryanair tickets using cash at Greek airports.

The above information was issued to clarify their earlier  press statement:

Greek citizens will be able to purchase tickets at Greek airports, using cash. Customers with Greek bank accounts are currently experiencing high rates of decline on their credit/debit cards for any purchases on Ryanair.com, due to capital controls imposed by the Government in recent days, and Ryanair has now provided the option for Greeks looking to travel to buy their plane tickets in cash at the Ryanair ticket desk at its airports.

Foreign citizens are not subject to the capital controls currently imposed on Greek citizens and are free to purchase their flights on the Ryanair.com website without restriction.

Ryanair will continue to monitor the situation in Greece and will update all affected customers and Greek residents if and when the situation changes.
