Police makes dozens of arrests for forged documents at Crete airports

Greek police  over the weekend arrested a total of 46 individuals, all  third country nationals on forged document charges. All of those arrested, aged between 17 and 51, were trying  to fly to European destinations  from Heraklion and Chania airports using forged passports.

According to the police among those arrested were 24 Syrians, 10 Afghans, 3 Palestinians, 4 Iranians, one Yemeni, one Indian, one Algerian, one Iraqi and one Eritrean citizen. There were 20 women among those arrested.

Forty four of the arrests were made at the Heraklion Airport, while one man and one woman were apprehended at the Chania Airport.
