Crete Post — A motorbike accident on Saturday night involving a pedestrian left a man dead while a woman passenger and the pedestrian were seriously injured.
The incident occurred on the Rethymno coastal road near the town centre shortly before midnight, when a woman, believed to be a tourist, was crossing the road. The driver of oncoming motorcycle did not mange to avoid her and hit her losing control of his bike and falling. According to reports he died instantly while his passenger, a woman, was seriously injured.
The pedestrian was also seriously injured. Both women were transferred to Rethymno General Hospital where they are undergoing treatment. No other details were released.
Rethymnon Traffic Police Department is carrying out a preliminary investigation for the exact causes of the accident.
