Man who alerted police about drunken air crew nominated for Norwegian Hero

An entire flight crew arrested by the police at Gardermoen on Saturday, August 8, when they showed up to fly 109 passengers  to Crete

Four out five – captain, first officer and two stewardesses – failed breathalyser tests  and blood tests later showed that they were all way over the legal limit for  alcohol.

They were later  all handed  custodial sentences.

Engstrøm alerted police that the flight crew had been drinking heavily  at the hotel, where he worked as a night watchman.

He is now  nominated for “Norwegian heroes”, an award given by Norwegian daily Verdens Gang, in cooperation with the  Gjensidige Foundation and TV Norway.
