July was ‘hottest on record’

eKathimerini — Last month was the hottest July since 1880, according to Greek official records.

With back-to-back heat waves last month, temperatures reached nearly 46 degrees Celsius (114.8 Fahrenheit) on Crete.

NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) has said that on a global scale July 2017 has tied last year as the hottest July in human history.

The average global temperature on Earth across the month was the highest ever recorded.
