Jet2.com announced several new destinations from Leeds Bradford from Summer 2019,  including a direct link to Chania while the airline is already flying to Heraklion this year. More than 55,000 seats will be made available for the Chania route with prices starting at £75 one-way

Jet2’s CEO Steve Heapy said “the new route to Chania gives holidaymakers access to the northwest coast of Crete, opening up blue flag beaches and historic sights in resorts such as Rethymnon, Aghia Marina, Chania Town, Kalyves, Stalos and Kolymbari”.

Isn’t now the time for the Crete authorities to try to convince Jet2 that Chania has the potential for all year round tourism, rather than rely on the whims of just one airline providing direct international flights in the winter?
