Heat wave predicted to last til Saturday

Another heatwave – the second of the summer – is expected to hit Greece from  Tuesday, July 17, with temperatures in many parts predicted to rise to the upper 30 degree Celsius.

Regions affected are Thessaly, Pedina, Fthiotida and Boeotia, Attika, Lakonia, Messinia, Argolida, Corinthia, Arcadia, Ilia, Aigia, Preveza, Crete and islands of the eastern and southeastern Aegean. Temperatures will start dropping on Saturday.

Health organisations around the country are warning people, especially the elderly, babies,  and those with health issues to stay inside and to keep hydrated.
