Dog attack on Crete leaves two men with injuries

eKathimerini — Two men were taken to hospital for treatment in Heraklion after being attacked by a pit bull, local reports said on Friday. The incident occurred late on Thursday in the region of Mesambelia.

According to reports, the dog escaped from its owner’s backyard and attacked a smaller dog being walked by a little girl. The girl’s father and a neighbour who went to help were attacked by the pitbull and both men, aged 61 and 70, suffered injuries in their legs arms neck and head. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.

The owner of the pit bull was arrested and was to face a prosecutor on Friday.
