Colder weather, strong winds and rain forecast for the rest of the week

The mild autumn weather is to give way to strong winds and lower temperature from Tuesday,  with gales sweeping in from the north and spreading south to central Greece, the Aegean islands and Crete.

Winds are expected to be at their strongest in the northern Aegean, reaching speeds of 9 or 10 Beaufort on Tuesday, which may affect ferryboat services.

The forecast for Crete is for very strong winds and a significant drop in temperature and rain as the cold front is expected to reach the island from Wednesday morning.
