Cars to be banned at Chania Venetian Port from April 23

Tornos News — Chania authorities have permanently banned the use of cars at the Old Venetian Port following a proposal by the Municipal Port Fund, ANA reports.

The year-round ban will go into effect on April 23 (Monday) and will exempt supply trucks (max. weight 5 tons) from 07:00 and 09:00 on a daily basis. Special conditions will be set for taxis, vehicles carrying people with disabilities, horse-drawn carriages and bicycles.

Parking will also be prohibited along the whole length of the Venetian harbor, as well as in Katechaki Square, east and west of the Old Customs House.
