Boy vanishes from Athens hospital after fatal accident

An Amber Alert was issued on Tuesday following the disappearance of an 11-year-old boy, known simply as Dionysis T, from the Aghia Sophia Children’s Hospital in Athens.

A prosecutor ordered that the boy be detained at the hospital after he ran over and killed his 14-month-old cousin at a Roma camp.

The boy had been in his uncle’s car at the time.

The Child’s Smile charity said that as a result of the circumstances surrounding the accident, Dionysis is in a particularly fragile mental state.

Hospital officials said they believe the child left the hospital on his own on Monday.
