Express and Star — Dionne Abrahams, aged 20, was on holiday with a friend on the island of Crete when tragedy struck.
On July 15 she went out and returned back to the hotel alone. But around 2.30am the following morning she fell from a window in the hotel she was staying and died from head injuries on the way to the hospital
An inquest at Black Country Coroner’s Court was adjourned until November 6 while further investigations into Dionne’s death are carried out by British and Greek authorities.
Her family faced the additional burden of finding the money to fly her body home to Wolverhampton.
But a fundraising bid set up by a family friend was inundated with donations and raised more than the £5,000 target within days.
The family are said to be making their own investigations but declined to comment any further.
Relatives took to social media to thank those who had helped raise over £5,200.
Tracie Lewis wrote: “On behalf of Dionne’s family, I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you for ur kind words and donation..this is a tragedy we was not prepared for..we so desperately need to bring her home and it would not be possible without all ur support.”
