Apokoronas council has made huge progress on the issue of strays, thanks to the tireless efforts of deputy mayor Terezaki  the support of a large number of volunteers and local animal welfare organisations and the continuing support of mayor Koukianakis.

Apokoronas  is leading the way in the care of stray animals by having started a municipal animal surgery staffed by volunteer vets and having a comprehensive neutering and release and rehoming programme.

After several consultations with animal welfare organisations and other agencies Apokoronas council took the decision to start a ‘Life Line’ for stray animals.
