A 70 year old British man was pulled unconscious out of the sea at Falassarna, Kissamos on Friday afternoon.
An ambulance was called and the man was taken to the Health Centre of Kissamos where he was certified dead.
The body was taken to the coroners mortuary in Chania where the cause of death of the unfortunate man will be determined.
